At its Awe Dropping event, Apple unveiled the AirPods Pro 3, its first wireless earbuds with a heart rate sensor. The Cupertino-based tech giant claims AirPods 3 Pro feature the “world’s best in-ear Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)” and can block out two times more noise than the previous generation AirPods.
The AirPods Pro 3 come with a new design that helps them fit better and offers more stability when engaged in physical activities like HIIT, yoga, running and more. These wireless earbuds also come with IP57 dust and water resistance, along with a heart rate monitor sensor, which lets you track more than 50 workout types using the Fitness app on the iPhone.
AirPods 3 feature a custom photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, which uses invisible infrared light to measure the light absorption in blood flow. Users will also be able to use Workout Buddy, an Apple Intelligence feature that uses a user’s workout data and their fitness history to give personalised recommendations.
The AirPods Pro 3 also improve on the fit. To do so, Apple says it used more than 10,000 ear scans and spent 100,000 hours on research. The company says it has completely re-engineered the internal architecture to make each earbud smaller and modified the geometry of the ear tip for increased stability. The AirPods Pro 3 come with new foam-infused ear tips in five sizes, including a new XXS size.
Also, the AirPods Pro 3 will last longer than its predecessor, with Apple claiming that users will get 67 per cent more battery life in Transparency Mode.
Like the Google Pixel Buds, Apple also introduced the Live Translation feature, which lets you engage in conversation with people who don’t speak the same language as you. It is currently available in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, with support for Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (simplified) coming by the end of the year.
Apple AirPods Pro 3 will go on sale starting September 19 and are priced at $249, which roughly translates to Rs 22,000.
