X, formerly Twitter, has had an edit button for a while now but it’s a luxury limited to Blue subscribers. That won’t be the case on Threads, though. The social platform is reportedly working on an edit post feature – and it’ll likely be available unconditionally to everyone.
The feature was spotted by developer Alessandro Paluzzi, who shared some screenshots of it on X. According to Paluzzi, the feature would let you edit your post once within a five-minute window after posting it. You would also see a history of edits made to a post, similar to how Instagram shows edited captions. Paluzzi also said that the feature is not available yet, but it could be coming soon.

Meta has not officially announced the edit post feature for Threads, but Instagram chief Adam Mosseri confirmed in July that it was on the list of potential features for the app. Since then, Meta has added several other features to Threads, such as a following feed, a web client, and a search function.
Meta is also rolling out another feature for Threads that lets you switch between multiple profiles on mobile by long-pressing the profile tab. Mosseri announced this feature on Thursday, saying that it was one of the most requested features by users who manage multiple accounts on Threads.
