Samsung on Monday announced two new A series smartphones — Galaxy A55 and the Galaxy A35, the latest mid-tier 5G smartphones with four years of promised Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. The company claims that the latest A series smartphones offer Galaxy’s flagship camera innovations. And, these are also the first set of Galaxy A series smartphones to offer Samsung Knox Vault security features.
The Galaxy A35 is available in two storage options with the base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage priced at Rs 30,999 and the 256 GB variant costs Rs 33,999. The Galaxy A55 is available in three variants, where, the base model costs Rs 39,999 for the base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB variant costs Rs 42,999, and lastly, the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB variant is priced at Rs 45,999. The company is offering a flat Rs 3,000 discount on all the models (for HDFC, OneCard, and IDFC First Bank card users), which brings down the effective price of Galaxy A35 to Rs 27,999 and the effective price of Galaxy A55 comes down to Rs 36,999. Both smartphones will be available for purchase starting March 14.
As of now, the company has not shared any details regarding the pricing or the availability of the Galaxy A35 and the Galaxy A55 in India, which will be unveiled on March 14.

While they look quite identical to each other and also offer an IP67 rating against water and dust, the Galaxy A55 comes with a metal frame, while the Galaxy A35 features a plastic frame.
Both smartphones come with a 6.6-inch FHD+ resolution display with 120Hz refresh rate and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. While the more premium Galaxy A55 is powered by the Exynos 1480 SoC, the Galaxy A35 makes use of the Exynos 1380 that powered the Galaxy A54 (review). Both smartphones offer 8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB of storage, and out-of-the-box, these devices ship with Android 14-based OneUI 6.1 and will receive updates up to Android 18. However, unlike the Galaxy S24 series, these smartphones do not offer any AI-related features.
The Galaxy A55 has a triple camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 5 MP macro lens. Similarly, the Galaxy A35 has a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 5 MP macro lens. While the Galaxy A55 offers a 32 MP selfie camera, the Galaxy A35 has a 13 MP front-facing camera. In terms of features, these devices offer optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS), Night Portrait mode, 12-bit HDR video, and enhanced Nightography features, powered by advanced AI Image Signal Processing (ISP).
Samsung has confirmed that accessories like Galaxy Fit3, Galaxy Watch6, and the Galaxy Buds SE are compatible with the Galaxy A55 and the Galaxy A35 and offer capabilities like auto connect and auto switch for added convenience. Both smartphones offer a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
