(Image credit: Realme)Realme’s latest 320W SuperSonic smartphone charging solution can fully charge a smartphone with a 4,420 mAh battery in under five minutes, less than the time required to brew coffee using a conventional drip system. This is currently the fastest smartphone charging solution by any brand, which can fully recharge the battery in a staggering four minutes and 30 seconds.
Even more interesting is that a phone compatible with the 320W SuperSonic charging can charge up to 26 per cent in just a minute, and half of the battery can be charged in around two minutes.

With this technology, Realme is surpassing Xiaomi’s recently introduced 300W fast charging, which can also fully charge a smartphone in under five minutes. Still, that technology is rated for smartphones featuring a 4,000 mAh battery.
Realme’s 320W SuperSonic charger is Pocket Cannon, which works in tandem with the company’s proprietary battery technology. This charger is said to be as small as the company’s 240W charger. It powers the Realme GT 3 in China, which can fully charge the smartphone in under 10 minutes. Realme’s Pocket Cannon charging brick is compatible with various fast-charging protocols such as UFCS, USB-PD, and SuperVOOC, making it cross-compatible with other devices.
To make this work, Realme has developed a new folded battery consisting of four cells. These cells are less than 3mm thick and offer a 10 per cent increased energy storage capacity compared to traditionally designed smartphone batteries.
Realme says its 320W SuperSonic charging technology is as safe as any other smartphone fast-charging solution in the market. It also achieves a new technology called AirGap Voltage Transformer, which ensures voltage remains isolated from the battery. The voltage is also limited to 20V, with a power efficiency of 98 per cent.
Realme is expected to introduce the new folded battery and 320W SuperSonic battery technology with its upcoming flagship smartphones. Chinese smartphone brands like Realme, Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus have been paving the way for fast-charging technologies. In contrast, brands like Apple and Samsung have stuck to lower fast-charging technologies, at most 45W, even on the high-end flagship smartphones.
