Oppo has put out a teaser on the company’s official Twitter account, hinting at an imminent launch of the R-series in India. This is the first time the Chinese company will launch its R-series in India, which is primarily known for its design language and exceptional cameras. While Oppo has not revealed which model it plans to bring to India first, many believe it could be the R17 Pro – the device that features a Snapdragon 710 processor and triple rear-facing cameras on the back.
In its teaser, Oppo is clearly trying to build the hype around its R-series. The teaser video gif shows off a phone with a bright, pink colour on the right edge of the screen. Interestingly, the R17 Pro has the same colour tone on the edge of the device. Again, we are not clear about the device but this phone appears to be the R17 Pro.
While the R17 comes with a Snapdragon 670 processor, the R17 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset. The rear camera on the R17 Pro has a triple camera setup with a variable aperture lens. The triple camera setup consists of a 12MP primary camera with a variable aperture (f/1.5 to f/2.4) that adjusts automatically to lighting conditions. The main camera is coupled with a 20MP shooter and the third camera has a 3D depth sensor. In front, the phone gets a 25MP selfie camera.

Other specifications of the R17 Pro are as follows: a 6.4-inch AMOLED (2340×1080) display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, either 6 or 8GB RAM, 128GB of non-expandable internal memory, a 3700mAh battery, and ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1.

The Oppo R17 Pro is pricey in China, where it costs 4300 Yuan (or approx Rs 44,369). We expect the device to cost in the same price bracket when it launches in India shortly. Oppo R17 Pro will be pitted against OnePlus 6T.
