OnePlus unveiled its latest line of products at its launch event in Milan, Italy, on Tuesday, July 16. The newly launched devices include the much-awaited Nord 4, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, the OnePlus Pad 2, and the OnePlus Watch 2R.
This year, the event generated more attention than usual because the brand showed how it plans to embrace AI to its fullest in its new devices, with the OnePlus Nord 4 being shipped with a host of AI features such as AI Best Face, AI Eraser, and more.
The Nord 4, which is a mid-range smartphone, powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 with an all-metal design and built-in AI features. Additionally, a brand-new tablet, smartwatch, and earbuds were also announced at the global launch event.
For OnePlus, the Milan event bears higher stakes than usual. Smartphone sales have been declining in recent years as consumers avoid frequent upgrades. However, experts anticipate the market to rebound with generative AI and better pricing and discounts, which may help increase sales despite the perception that the smartphone era has plateaued.
It remains to be seen how AI can transform our smartphones and add a new flavour to the user experience, but the hype is real.

Additionally, the OnePlus Nord 4 will be available for pre-order at Rs 32,999 onwards from July 20 to July 30.
OnePlus claims that its all-new Watch 2R can go for 12 days without a charge in smart mode.
The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro offers hybrid ANC that automatically adjusts based on the fit of the earbuds and the surrounding noise. It has 12.4mm dynamic drivers and comes with BassWave technology that enhances user experience without affecting audio quality.
AI Best Face feature can help you correct closed eyes in pictures, similarly, AI Clear Face can help you unblur your selfies. Another feature, AI Eraser lets you erase background distractions.
The display of the OnePlus Nord 4 is the brightest ever on a Nord phone. It features a 120Hz OLED screen with class-leading Ultra-HDR visuals. It boasts a peak brightness of 2150 nits, a 1.5K (2772x1240) high resolution, Ultra HDR support, and 450 ppi pixel density for detailed visuals.
OnePlus brings its rain water touch technology to the Nord 4, which lets you use the phone even when there are water drops on your screen.
The OnePlus Nord 4 will get 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches, making it one of the few mid-range phones with long-term software support.
The OnePlus Nord 4 comes with a 5,500mAh battery and charges using SUPERVOOC charging. This essentially means the device will go from 1 to 100 percent in less than half an hour.
The all-new OnePlus Nord 4 uses AI to improve signal quality. This means you will no longer be stuck in blackspots like lifts or basements. The new device comes with AI Linkboost, designed to help users reconnect to their mobile network faster than ever before. OnePlus claims that there is no waiting and no lagging.
The new Nord 4 will come with the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, supporting the Qualcomm AI Engine. OnePlus Performance Intelligence will learn user habits and offer improved performance instantaneously. Up to 44 apps can run in the background, ensuring up to 72 hours of playtime.
Lampen explains that staying true to oneself is the idea behind the Nord series. Describing consumer demand, Lampen said that the things customers look forward to in their phones are design, solid build, and great camera performance. Lampen says the OnePlus Nord 4 is the only unibody-metal design 5G device on the market. He adds that metal brings a timeless element to the design, giving it a sleek look. This is also the slimmest Nord at 7.99mm.
