‘Metal with mettle’: OnePlus’ new Nord smartphone to launch at July 16 Summer launch event

This also debunks earlier leaks suggesting the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 3V, with a plastic/polycarbonate body, would be rebranded as the OnePlus Nord 4 for India and the global market.

Sanju Choudhary, a leakster, has shared a sketchy-looking image of the OnePlus Nord 4 on X. Featuring a metal frame and a dual-tone finish at the back with two big camera sensors, it looks unlike anything we have seen from the brand.

According to Choudhary’s X post, the Nord 4 will be based on the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC and will include a 6.74-inch OLED Tianma U8+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2150 nits peak brightness. For now, it’s not clear if this will get a flat or a curved display. The leaks also hint that the phone will come with a 50MP primary camera and an ultrawide-angle lens.

Other prominent features of the OnePlus Nord 4 include a 5,500mAh battery, 100W fast charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a stereo speaker setup, and an alert slider. In terms of OS support, the device is said to ship with Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 skin on top and is expected to receive three major OS updates and security updates for four years, the leak suggested.

In a previous leak, Choudhary indicated that the Nord 4 could cost around Rs 31,999. It is still unclear if the Nord 4 will look similar to the leaked image.

OnePlus is yet to unveil the other products that will be announced at the summer event, but a few more accessories are expected.
