Killer deal? Moto X Play selling on Flipkart for Rs 18,499

Motorola’s Moto X Play smartphone has been launched in India for a price of Rs 18,499, which makes it one of the cheapest phones with a 21 megapixel camera and a 30 hour battery life promise. The Moto X goes on sale on Flipkart at midnight tonight. The 32 GB version of the Moto X Play will launch at Rs 19,999. Motorola will sell the Turbo charger for the Moto X Play separately.

Asked about the new Android M update, Motorola’s director product management Carl Steen said they are still waiting for the code from Google. “However, we will be first to roll out Android M whenever next version comes, possibly by Q1 2016,” Steen said.

The company indicated that the older Moto X will be phased out gradually from the market.

The Moto X Play is the cheaper and smaller screen version of the Moto X Style. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD screen at 403 ppi with Gorilla Glass 3, Snapdragon 615 Octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 405 @ 550 MHz GPU.

The Moto X Style, on the other hand, has a 5.7-inch Quad HD display at a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

The Moto X Play also has a Natural Language Processor, Contextual Computing Processor like the Moto X Style. The Moto X Play comes with 2GB RAM and 16 or 32GB storage space options (upto 128GB microSD card supported).

The battery in the Moto X Play is at 3630 mAh with 30 hours usage. The rear camera is 21 megapixel with a f /2.0 aperture and the front camera is 5 megapixel.

The original Moto X was launched at a price of Rs 23,999, while the second Moto X launched in India for Rs 31,999 for the 16GB version and later a 32GB version was also launched at Rs 32,999.
