Motorola is reportedly working on two new flagship handsets in the Moto X series. Motorola is planning to launch two new Moto G handsets in India on May 17.

According to VentureBeat, the two new phones will feature modular design unlike LG’s G5. Last year, Motorola had launched three devices in the Moto X series. This year company’s two upcoming Moto X series devices will feature all-metal design and look identical to each other.

The VentureBeat report says both the smartphones will come with 5.5-inch display. The flagship device (codenamed Vector Thin) will feature Quad HD AMOLED display while the other device (codenamed Vertex) will sport a Full HD display and run Snapdragon 625 inside.

The devices were first posted by hellomotoHK on their Google+ page. VentureBeat’s Evan Blass also says that the new phones will feature modular back plates and Motorola has at least six modules in work.

LG tried something similar with its G5 flagship smartphone and we will have to wait to see whether Motorola is able to pull it off well.
