Huawei Mate 20 Pro users have started reporting a display bleed issue, as green tints appear over the screen. Reported by several users across social media, the Mate 20 Pro appears to face issues when operated in low-light mode or under dark themes/wallpapers. The Chinese company has assured users reporting the issue of a fix, and has asked that owners should take their devices to customised service centres.
Users have reported the Mate 20 Pro issue causes bleeding of the green tint over the display, which also showed up when viewing content with dark colours. Huawei is speculated to have used LG’s OLED panels for some models of their latest flagship, which have been blamed for the issue. Others believe that the glue within the screen may be drying out, and resulting in colour reproduction problems along the edges. The nature of the green tint and its size varies among different wallpapers and designs, as has been spotted through user images of the same.
Huawei has acknowledged the presence of the screen bleed issue. As per a company statement, accessed by GizmoChina, Huawei has said, “The Mate 20 Pro uses an industry-leading flexible OLED screen featuring special design curved edges for an enhanced visual experience and holding comfort. This may lead to slight discolouration when viewed from different angles. If the colour cast affects your normal use, take your phone to an authorized Customer Service Center for assistance.”
