Google’s Pixel series may be one of the best Android phones in the market, but they are equally famous for getting leaked, sometimes months ahead of launch. The Pixel 8a, the company’s upcoming pocket-friendly offering is no stranger to leaks and rumours.
Last month, we came across some pretty high-quality renders of the device, giving us a good idea of what it will look like. Now, a post by TechDroider on X (previously Twitter) gives us a glimpse of the back and front of the Pixel 8a.

Unlike the Pixel 7a, which has a glossy plastic back, Google seems to have opted for a matte back for its upcoming phone. Also, it looks like the Pixel 8a may have large Samsung Galaxy A55 (review) like bezels with a huge uneven chin on the bottom.
The newly leaked photos corroborate with earlier leaks which show that the Pixel 8a will have rounded edges instead of the rectangular-ish design of the Pixel 7a. The volume and power buttons are still housed on the right side of the phone.
The Google Pixel 8a will reportedly be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset and have a 6.1-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. It is said that the phone will have a refresh rate of 120Hz, which will be the first for the Pixel A series. The Pixel 8a will most likely run on Android 14 out of the box and come in two storage variants – 128GB and 256GB.
On the back, we might see a Pixel 8-like pill-shaped camera island that houses a 64MP primary camera and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. All of this may be powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 27W wired charging. Google might launch the Pixel 8a at the upcoming Google I/O event, which is scheduled to take place on May 14. Rumour also has it that the Pixel 8a may cost $100 more than the Pixel 7a.
