Google is likely to announce its next compact flagship — Pixel 8A — at its annual developer conference, I/O 2024, on May 14th. A new leak now hints at the possible colour variants of the upcoming smartphone. According to a report by Android Headlines, the Pixel 8A will come in four colour options: black, porcelain, blue, and a new, very vibrant green variant.

The overall design of the Pixel 8A is almost identical to that of the Pixel 8, and the very vibrant green variant of the Pixel 8A looks very refreshing, and like a pale variant of the Nokia Lumia 930.

Earlier leaks have already highlighted that the Pixel 8A will be a compact smartphone, featuring a 6.1-inch display. This time around, it is said to be a 120Hz OLED panel, a big jump from the 90Hz panel on the Pixel 7A. However, the phone will have a very noticeable chin at the bottom of the display, and the phone might not look as modern as the Pixel 8 Pro or the Pixel 8. There is a dual camera setup at the back, possibly with a 64 MP primary sensor and a 13 MP ultra-wide angle lens.

Just like the other variants of the Pixel 8 series of smartphones, the Pixel 8A will be powered by the Tensor G3 processor, and the device is likely to offer 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage on the base variant. This could also be the first A-series smartphone from Google to get a 256 GB variant.

An earlier report by Android Authority also indicates that the Pixel 8A could be the last smartphone in its series, as the Pixel 9 lineup is said to include just the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and the Pixel 9 XL, all featuring a different sized display. In India, the Pixel 8A is likely to cost around Rs 50,000 during launch.
