The company has also announced a Pixel Slate tablet and a Pixelbook laptop along with a Google Home Hub device. The event was held in New York. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL did not surprise given the devices had leaked a lot ahead of the launch.

Google Pixel 3 event 2018: Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL price in India and pre-orders

Google Pixel 3 will cost Rs 71,000 for the base model with 64GB, while its 128GB storage variant will be available at a price of Rs 80,000. Pixel 3 XL 64GB and 128GB storage versions will cost Rs 83,000 and Rs 92,000 respectively. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will ship in three colour options - Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink. Pre-orders in India start October 11, while the phones will go on sale from November 1. Google Pixel stand will available at a price of Rs 6,900 from November 1.

Google Pixel 3 event 2018: Processor, battery and memory

Google Pixel 3 series is powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 4GB RAM and either 64GB and 128GB storage. The Pixel 3 XL has a 3430mAh battery, while Pixel 3 packs a 2915mAh battery. Both the phones lack a microSD card slot, but offer unlimited storage with Photos. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are IP68 water and dust resistant and the phones will support wireless charging.

Both Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will continue with a single 12.2MP rear camera sensor like Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The phones will offer Portrait Mode, thanks to software-driven bokeh blur. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come with dual 8MP front camera system, with a super-wide secondary front camera.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL continue with a design language similar to Pixel 2 series. Pixel 3 XL features an Apple iPhone XS-style notch at the top of the display. It gets a 6.3-inch  HDR-capable, QHD+ touchscreen with ultra-thin bezels and large screen-to-body ratio. The small Pixel 3 comes with a 5.5-inch HDR-capable, FHD+ OLED display and standard 18:9 aspect ratio. Both Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL feature always-on displays.

Google Pixel Slate runs on Chrome OS. It is a new type of device. This is the first Pixel-branded tablet. Google says it has used a custom, high-resolution display and speakers. Google Pixel Slate is designed to provide the full desktop experience. Users can multitask in the Pixel Slate, even supports Google Assistant. Google Pixel Slate also supports a keyboard and stylus.

We are waiting for the keynote to begin shortly. Well, we're expecting two new Pixel phones and a 7-inch Home Hub at this event. Google is also rumoured to launch the Pixel Slate tablet as well. Google Pixel 3 event 2018: India timings, how to watch livestream

Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL launch event will take place in New York on October 9 at 11 AM ET or 8:30 PM IST. Those interested can catch livestream on 'Made by Google' YouTube page. We expect Google to post live updates on its 'Made by Google' Facebook and Twitter pages as well.  

Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL feature a design similar to Pixel 2 series, except the larger phone has a notched display. Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch display without notch, while Pixel 3 XL has a 6.3-inch screen with notch and comes with a QHD+ resolution. It is an HDR ready display on the bigger Pixel 3 XL.

Pixel 3 series has front firing stereo speakers to provide the best audio experience. It will ship with the new YouTube audio streaming experience and it will be free for Pixel 3 owners for the first three months. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL continue with a 12MP rear camera, and come with dual 8MP cameras on the front. The second sensor is a wide-angle one. A circular fingerprint sensor is also present on both devices. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will run Android 9 Pie.

Both Pixel 3 phones run the Snapdragon 845 processor, and are expected to be available in 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal memory storage options. The phones also come with ‘Active Edge’ feature that we saw on the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL. It allows users to launch Google Assistant by squeezing the phone’s edges.
