Apple has unveiled the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which come with a powerful new A16 chipset, a new 48MP main camera and satellite connectivity– though that the last one is limited to the US and Canada for now. Let’s take a look quick look at what the iPhone 14 Pro series offers.
The iPhone 14 Pro continues with the 6.1-inch OLED display, while the Pro Max has the 6.7-inch. But this display gets a pill shaped notch, with Apple converting it into a ‘dynamic island’ that will display animations, notifications based on the app that’s open. Apple is relying on both hardware and software to achieve this effect on the iPhone 14 Pro’s display.
The iPhone 14 Pro series is powered by the new A16 Bionic chipset, which is built on the 4nm design and comes with six-cores and a more advanced GPU and Neural engine and ISP as well. Apple has limited A16 to the high-end Pro options this time.
The iPhone 14 Pro gets a 48MP Main camera and improvements to the telephoto and ultra-wide camera. The camera comes with better low-light photography, the ability to shoot at 48MP in ProRaw mode and improved video recording among other things. Apple has also increased the battery life on the Pro series.
Apple iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999. The iPhone 14 Pro Max costs $1099. In India, the iPhone 14 Pro starts at Rs 1,29,900 which is Rs 10,000 more than last year’s iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,39,900 which is Rs 10,000 more than the iPhone 13 Pro Max from 2021. Sale begins September 16, and pre-orders open today.
