Apple iPad Pro 2024 may have bigger OLED screen, M3 chip and new Magic Keyboard

Apple might launch a refreshed version of the 11-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro sometime next month. Both tablets are expected to pack an OLED screen and might be powered by the M3 chip.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch new iPads this year starting with the iPad Pro lineup, which according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, might be launched sometime next month.

In his newsletter, the Apple tipster suggested that the upcoming iPad Pro will be the biggest-ever refresh in years and might be the first Apple tablet to come with an OLED screen that will offer better brightness and more accurate and crisper colours compared to their predecessors.

As of now, the latest iteration of the 11-inch iPad Pro features an LCD screen, which is the same as the original iPad Pro, whereas the 12.9-inch iPad Pro packs a mini-LED panel. But this year, both the small and large iPad Pro are expected to make the switch to OLED panels.

Apple might bump up the screen size of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro to 13 inches and it will support a new revamped Magic Keyboard that will have a larger trackpad and a landscape-oriented Face ID camera, which was spotted in a beta build of iOS 17.4.

On the hardware front, both models are expected to pack Cupertino’s latest in-house developed M3 chip. While these upgrades may make the iPad experience better than their predecessors, Apple might also increase the price of the new iPads by a considerable margin.

Gurman also hinted that the iPad Air 6 will be getting some substantial upgrades like a 12.9-inches screen compared to the iPad Air 2022’s 10.9-inch display. Apple did not reveal any new iPads in 2023, making it the first year the Cupertino-based tech giant did not update the iPad since its introduction over a decade ago.
