Lenovo’s Legion Go could soon join the fast-growing handheld gaming console market. According to a report from Windows Report, the very first portable gaming console from Lenovo seem to have opted for a Nintendo Switch-like design with removable joy-con-like controllers.

According to the renders of the Legion Go, when the controllers are attached, the console looks similar to the Asus ROG Ally and the Steam Deck. When detached, it looks like a slightly thick Windows tablet with a kickstand, again, mimicking the Switch’s design language.

It looks like Lenovo has opted for a design that encompasses all the best features from the top-selling handheld consoles. When compared to Switch’s joy-cons, the controllers on the Legion Go have full-sized triggers and shoulder buttons. Similarly, it also seems to have programmable buttons for added customisation.

With respect to connectivity, the Legion Go is reported to include at least two USB Type-C thunderbolt ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it even seems to have an external microSD card slot for easy storage upgrade. Right now, there is no confirmation of the hardware specifications. However, the graphics prowess of the Lenovo Legion Go is likely to be similar to that of the Steam Deck and ROG Ally.

An earlier leak by Windows Central suggested that the Legion Go will have an 8-inch 1080p touch display and the device will be powered by the AMD Phoenix processor and the device will ship with Windows 11 OS, allowing users to install any Windows game and with support for Xbox Game Pass.
