Next year, Playground Games will release the next generation of the Forza Horizon series, which is set in Japan. Microsoft released an official teaser during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show live on Thursday, after the rather early announcement of Forza Horizon 6 on the official Forza Horizon Instagram account.

Microsoft has not put out any gameplay in the teaser clip, yet through the teaser, we can deduce that players of Forza Horizon 6 will be able to explore an open environment set in several regions of Japan, as well as the neon lights and structures of Tokyo City.

According to Matt Booty, President, Game Content and Studios, Xbox, “This has been the most requested location since the very first game, and we can’t wait to share more next year.”

2026 will see the original release of Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox and PC, but it is not confirmed for PS5. And reports suggest that Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games are “collaborating to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation 5 post-launch”.

Earlier this year, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer casually stated that the next Forza would be released in 2026. Gears of War: E-Day, a Halo CE remake, and Playground Games’ Fable would all be included in Forza Horizon 6.

A year after Microsoft’s PS5 release of the previous instalment, Forza Horizon 5, Forza Horizon 6 will make its appearance. The four-year-old game became one of the most played PS5 titles this year and topped Sony’s PlayStation shop statistics.
