A new Call of Duty game is set to release in November 10, featuring a single-player campaign that continues the story of Modern Warfare II. This is the first time two Modern Warfare games are releasing back to back, with Activision saying that a large amount of content from the previous Modern Warfare game will be “transferred.”

Called Modern Warfare III, the game features a single-player campaign that continues the story of Modern Warfare II, a multiplayer mode that connects with the previous game, and a zombies mode that offers a new open world survival challenge.

The single-player campaign introduces a new type of mission called “open combat”, where players can choose how to approach their objectives and face different scenarios. The campaign also features the return of familiar characters and villains from the Modern Warfare series, as well as new ones.

The multiplayer mode is designed to be seamless and consistent with Modern Warfare II, as players can transfer their weapons and operator content from the previous game to the new one. The multiplayer mode also features 16 maps at launch, with more to come after launch, and various modes, including a new 3v3v3 mode called “Cutthroat”.

The zombies mode is developed by Treyarch, the studio behind the popular Black Ops series, and it offers a new twist on the classic undead mode. The zombies mode features an open world map that is the largest in Call of Duty history, where players have to survive and extract themselves from hordes of zombies. The mode also combines core zombies features with new mechanics.

“Our vision to deliver back-to-back Modern Warfare games has been years in the making,” Activision wrote in a blog post. “From the start of development across both Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III, Sledgehammer Games has worked closely with Infinity Ward to create a blockbuster sequel in the Modern Warfare series, featuring the return of iconic heroes and villains alike. Players will be able to grow closer to the characters, delve deeper into the storylines, and continue to build out progression and loadouts without interruption.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (via both Steam and Battle.net) on November 10.
