Apple’s 2018 iPad Pro model, which is expected to be announced at the company’s October 30 event in New York, will have rounded corners, no notch, and no home button. 9to5Mac reports it found a new icon within iOS 12, which reveals a more detailed view of the new iPad Pro. The devices will support a USB Type-C port, a first on any Apple device.

Speculations suggest that the upcoming iPad Pro will sport a design similar to that of the current iPhone X series, though the report notes that bezels seem large when compared to the recent iPhones. “This could be due to how the icon is constructed, sometimes thicker lines are required for it to be “readable” at smaller sizes. A similar effect occurred with the iPhone X glyph found last year,” the report reads.

Apple will continue with a sleep/wake button at the top for 2018 iPad Pro, while iPhone models have this button on the side. However, the report notes that this could be an “unfinished asset” and the button could be present on the side on the final product that Apple will unveil on October 30. The volume buttons will be on the side.

Instead of a physical fingerprint sensor, users will be able to unlock the device with Face ID that was introduced on iPhone X. The feature will work with both portrait and landscape orientations.
