Microsoft announced on Tuesday that its premium Copilot Pro subscription is now available for individuals for Rs 2,000 a month. This subscription offers priority access to GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo, and India is among the first countries to receive Copilot Pro.
Users who already have Office 365 subscriptions can quickly sign up for Copilot Pro to supercharge Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote. The same is also available for non-Microsoft 365 subscribers; however, they will miss out on the Office suite integration.
Microsoft originally launched Copilot Pro for enterprises for $30 or Rs 3,000 a month, enabling generative AI capabilities powered by OpenAI’s GPT on various apps and services. According to Microsoft, the new Copilot Pro subscription is designed for power users who have been utilising various Copilot features and are seeking an upgrade with faster response time and more capabilities. Once subscribed, users can access Copilot Pro features on a Windows PC, Mac, web, Android, and iOS devices.
Copilot Pro for individual users includes all the features of the enterprise version, except for the ability to create a presentation deck on PowerPoint using a Word Document. This limitation is due to the lack of Microsoft’s Graph technology as of now, which is available for enterprise users. Microsoft has confirmed that in the coming days, Copilot GPT Builder will be included, allowing individuals to create their own GPT designed for a specific task.
Users with a Copilot Pro subscription will get access to the latest GPT models, including the GPT-4 Turbo, and will also have access to image generation tools like Image Creator from Designer, powered by OpenAI’s DALL-E. Users can select the conversation style, generate emails on Outlook, and analyse data in Excel to generate graphs.
Copilot, the basic version, is still available for free. However, Microsoft suggests that non-Pro users might experience slower response times during peak usage, as it could be based on the GPT-3.5 model, while Pro users will have access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo. Copilot Pro users can generate up to 100 images on the Designer, whereas regular users are limited to 15.
