Accessing ChatGPT on an Android smartphone just got a lot easier, thanks to the new widget. Currently available on ChatGPT version 1.2024.052, users can now add the widget to their smartphone home screen to quickly access the AI chatbot with just a single tap.
The new ChatGPT widget currently offers five ways to communicate with the AI bot. A user can type his/her query within the widget or upload or take a photo from the camera. They can also use the voice search option from the same. Do note that the ability to search on ChatGPT using a photo or camera is limited to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, which currently costs Rs 1,950 a month.
Depending on your smartphone brand, this procedure might vary a bit. However, on most phones, long-press on the home screen > click on widgets > and select ChatGPT. Make sure that you are running on the latest version of ChatGPT to access this feature.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT is one of the most popular generative AI-powered chatbots in the world, available for both Android and iOS devices. Similarly, even Microsoft’s Copilot is also powered by the large language model GPT.
The company recently released Sora, a large language model that can convert text prompts into high-definition videos with up to 60 seconds. Right now, Sora has limited access, and the company is expected to offer access to the same for ChatGPT Plus subscribers in the coming days.
