This Instagram model earns Rs 9 lakh a month from ads, and she is not even real

A Barcelona-based modeling agency, tired of models and influencers with their "massive egos", has introduced a new model who is outshining others in Spain.

Her dazzling pink tresses, supple skin, and enchanting smile are winning her thousands of likes and comments on her Instagram profile. Before we take this any further, she is not a known name or a movie star. Aitana Lopez commands a legion of fans on Instagram, and she is not even a real person.

A few months ago, we shared how AI is being deployed as news readers in popular media houses. Now it seems AI-generated models will be soon taking over the jobs of influencers and runway models. Lopez, an AI-generated creation of a Spanish modelling agency, is Spain’s first-ever AI influencer, and she earns a whopping $11,000 a month, which is equivalent to Rs 9,15,407. She reportedly charges a fee of $1090 (about Rs 90,700) per advertisement.

The model keeps her fans engaged by sharing images of her attending events, promoting products, and also, occasionally plugging in various brands.

The AI influencer has been created by Barcelona-based modelling agency The Clueless founded by Ruben Cruz. The pink-haired AI influencer currently has 188K followers on Instagram. As per various news reports, Lopez was created after the agency grew tired of real models. On her profile, Lopez is a digital creator who is a gamer, fitness and cosplay lover.

According to a report in euronews.com, the agency was going through a rough patch in the summer of 2022 as it didn’t have enough clients. At this point, Cruz said that they began analysing how they were working and came to the conclusion that most of their projects were being put on hold or cancelled due to problems that were much beyond their control. “Often it was the fault of the influencer or model and not due to design issues,” Cruz was quoted as saying by Euronews.

This is why they created their own influencer to be used as a model for the companies that approached them. “We did it so that we could make a better living and not be dependent on other people who have egos, who have manias, or who just want to make a lot of money by posing,” Cruz told the news outlet.

Apart from Instagram, Lopez uploads photos of herself on Fanvue, a platform similar to OnlyFans. According to the company, Lopez attracted close to 121,000 followers on Instagram in just a few months. The AI influencer also receives private messages from celebrities who are not aware that she is unreal. Lopez was created by Cruz, Diana Nunez, while her social media account is handled by Sofia Novales.
