Indian Premier League Player of the Tournament (MVP) Winners List from 2008 to 2025 Season: Mumbai Indians prolific batter and India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav was named the ‘Most Valuable Player’ (Player of the tournament) of the Indian Premier League 2025 season that concluded on Tuesday with Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning their maiden title. RCB handed Punjab Kings a six-run defeat in the finals of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to become the new IPL champions.
MI, which were eliminated just before the last hurdle in the second Qualifier against PBKS, were carried single-handedly by Suryakumar’s batting in the middle-order. Having won just one out of the first five matches, MI saw a turnaround in their fortunes when Suryakumar’s batting started to click.
Andre Russell, Sunil Narine (both for Kolkata Knight Riders) and Shane Watson (for Rajasthan Royals) are the only three players to win MVP award twice in their careers.
Apart from Tendulkar and Suryakumar, Virat Kohli, Harshal Patel and Shubman Gill are the only three Indians to be adjudged as the Player of the Tournament in IPL.
