You gave the example of MS Dhoni that he does not demand credit…I do not have any intention to go and take credit: Manoj Tiwary responds to Akash Chopra

Recently Manoj Tiwary slammed Indian Head Coach Gautam Gambhir on how the credit of winning the 2012 Indian Premier League went to Gambhir who was captain of the side at the time instead of the entire team. “There is an environment and PR that allows him to take all the credit,” Tiwary claimed.

However, responding to Tiwary Akash Chopra said, “People should give credit, asking for it just doesn’t work in my opinion. The biggest example of that is MS Dhoni. He doesn’t say anything, stands at the side, and hands the trophy to someone. When he won the World Cup, he put paaji (Sachin Tendulkar) at the forefront. We all give him the credit. He doesn’t go and ask for it.”

“You (Chopra) also spoke about the credit thing where you gave the example of MS Dhoni that he does not demand credit. You earn credit and appreciation. I do not have any intention to go and take credit,” Tiwary responded to Chopra realising a video on social media.

“There is no such intention to tell things that when KKR won the first title I did not get credit etc. I have made a lot of place in people’s hearts and when we won the IPL for the first time there was a massive rally in Kolkata where people gave a lot of love,” he added.

“Gambhir’s captaincy didn’t guide KKR to the title single-handedly. We all performed as a unit. Jacques Kallis, Manvinder Bisla and I performed with the bat and Sunil Narine bowled exceptionally well. That is why we won the 1st IPL title,” Tiwary said earlier. “Gautam Gambhir is a hypocrite. He doesn’t do what he says.”

Responding to hypocrite comment Chopra said, “Tiwary ji called him (Gambhir) a hypocrite and said he doesn’t do what he says, and why the credit is given to him, it should be given to everyone. There used to be an old couplet – ‘Bin maange moti mile maange mile na chun’ which means you get pearls without asking and not even quicklime if you ask.”
