All-rounder Rishi Dhawan picked five wickets as Group C leaders Himachal Pradesh bundled out Kerala for 196 on day one of the Ranji Trophy cricket match in Dharamsala on Monday.

The hosts took 73.4 overs to bowl out Kerala after opting to field at the the picturesque HPCA Stadium. Sanju Samson (30), Raiphi Gomez (32) and Basil Thampi (32) were the contributors to the modest first innings total. It was Dhawan’s second five-wicket haul of the season.

Hyderabad on top against Tripura

Medium pacer Anwar Ahmed took a five-wicket haul to put Hyderabad in a strong position against Tripura at stumps on day one of the Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match in Agartala on Monday.

Anwar’s burst helped Hyderabad dismiss Tripura for 184 in 45.1 overs before the visiting team’s batsmen made 116 for one at close of play, trailing by 68 runs.

Akshath Reddy was batting on 66 with the help of ten fours while his opening partner Tanmay Agarwal (39) was unlucky to depart three balls before stumps were called. Giving Reddy support was Chama Milind.

Jharkhand 215/9 on Day 1 against Andhra

Jharkhand suffered a dramatic lower order batting collapse as they ended the opening day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match against Andhra at 215 for nine in their first innings in Vizianagaram on Monday.

At the draw of stumps, Rituraj Singh and Ashish Kumar were batting on one and four respectively. For Andhra, pacer Cheepurapalli Stephen grabbed three wickets for 43 runs while Kakani Harish took two wickets. Paidikalva Vijaykumar, Duvvarapu Shivkumar and Ricky Bhui got a wicket each.

Assam reduce Services to 102-8 on day 1 of Ranji Trophy

Medium pacers Arup Das and Krishna Das shared seven wickets between them as Assam reduced Services to 102 for eight on the opening day of their Group C Ranji Trophy cricket tournament in Guwahati on Monday.

At stumps, Deepak Punia (11) was at the crease and giving him company was Abhishek Sakuja (0).
