Former Indian cricketer and World Cup 2011 hero Yuvraj Singh put Jasprit Bumrah in a tough spot with a couple of questions during a live interaction on Instagram.

Yuvraj asked his former Mumbai Indians (MI) teammate to choose who was the better middle-order batsman between him and former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. The southpaw also asked Bumrah to choose between current Indian skipper Virat Kohli and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The 26-year-old fast bowler tried to dodge the tricky questions and said that he doesn’t have much cricketing experience to choose between the two and had is relatively new to international cricket when compared to them.

“Choosing between Yuvraj and MS Dhoni is like choosing between Mum and Dad,” Bumrah said.

“Do you remember the Cuttack ODI where you registered your highest one-day score? The entire dressing room was elated that day because, for me, I grew up feeling happy whenever you both stitched a partnership together. It’s a genuine answer I can’t pick one,” Bumrah said, recalling the 256-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Yuvraj and Dhoni against England at Cuttack. The partnership rescued India after a top-order collapse and helped them post a massive total of 381/6. Yuvraj scored 150 in that game, his personal best in ODI cricket.

Yuvraj was not happy with Bumrah’s diplomatic answers. However, Bumrah said he felt that he tackled the tricky questions well. Yuvraj lauded Bumrah for his performances in Test cricket backing him to do good despite the pressure from fans and media.

“You need to believe that you are going to be the No.1 Test bowler in the coming years. You need to have that belief irrespective of what everyone says outside… Your target should be to become No.1 bowler in all three formats. You are probably one of the most mature guys in the team,” Yuvraj said.

The 40-year-old also asked Bumrah whether the younger lot in the squad were interested in Test cricket or just happy playing Indian Premier League (IPL) and white-ball international cricket. Bumrah revealed the “sad reality” that some of the guys were indeed happy with playing white-ball cricket, with no interest in the longest format of the game.

The Ahmedabad-born cricketer was also trolled by Yuvraj over his batting. Yuvraj recalled when Bumrah hit Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins for a six and how the dressing room went bonkers.

He also promised to upload the video of his knock soon to show that he has the potential to do well with the bat in the lower order.
