February may be the month of romance, but for all the lone wolves out there, it’s the season of back-to-back quiz competitions. From general quizzes to the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz to sets on cars and economics, many niche interests are being platformed with enormous prize pools. Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz
Started in 2004, Tata Crucible is one of India’s most prestigious business quizzes for corporate professionals. This year’s event has prizes worth over 10 lakhs and will consist of five rounds, including online prelims, where the top 12 contestants will be selected from 12 national clusters for the offline semi-finals and finals. The winners of the cluster finals will qualify for the national semi-finals, and the top 6 semi-finalists will progress to the national finals on April 20.

Elixir Quiz Fest by BITS Goa
BITS Goa is organising its annual quiz fest Elixir from February 16 to 18. The lineup includes four offline quizzes with a total prize pool of Rs 50,000. Apart from a school quiz, all other events are open to junior college and college students on this schedule:
> Quark National Quiz by Major Chandrakant Nair (Feb 16, 2pm) – Sci-Biz-Tech Quiz
> SchoolBag Quiz (Feb 17, 9:30am) – Sci-Biz-Tech Quiz
> Ganimatoonics (Feb 17, 2 pm) – Gaming, Anime and Pop Culture Quiz

Cricket Quiz by IIM Jammu
Slated for March 1, this unique sports quiz will consist of two rounds. In the written prelims of 100 cryptic questions, contestants will have to identify cricket players. In the next round, eight teams will be selected to compete on an undisclosed format. The event has a prize pool of Rs 15,000 and will be held in the Academic Block of IIM Jammu’s campus 10am onwards.

ExQuizite: Gen-Biz Quiz by Major Chandrakant Nair
The Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, is organising an all-ages general-business quiz on February 17. Renowned quiz master Major Chandrakant Nair will be hosting ExQuizite, which starts at 10am with prizes worth Rs 45,000.

Prashnothri Indian Sports Quiz
Chennai’s MOP Vaishnav College for Women is hosting this inter-college sports quiz competition on February 17. Themed on Indian achievements, it will start at 9:30am and be hosted by seasoned quiz firm X-Quiz-It.
Registration: Sign up in teams of two on this link before February 16. There is a cap of four teams from each college.
Economics Quiz by St. Stephen’s
Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College will be hosting its flagship economics quiz Prometheus as part of its National Economic Festival. Comprising an online prelims on February 21 followed by offline rounds on February 22 and March 3, this quiz is a great platform to showcase (or brush up on) domain knowledge. The contest is open to school students (classes 11 and 12) and undergrads.

If you fancy a glass of beer with your trivia, then try Ace of Pubs’ events, held every week across multiple cities in India. These quizzes may be lighthearted, but be warned: they’re not for lightweights. Expect a lot of clamour and wiggling fingers!

Open to UG/PG college students, the contest is being organised by S.P. Mandali Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research.

Nexus Open General Quiz
Nexus Consultancy is conducting its annual open quiz on February 24 with the Karnataka Quiz Association (KQA). Part of the latter’s monthly calendar, it is open to quiz teams of all ages and will take place in Hall 202 at Koramangala Club, Bengaluru. The event starts with written prelims, followed by semi-finals and finals. Special prizes are in store for top-performing school and college teams.

Unmaad Open Quiz by IIM-B
IIM Bangalore is organising an offline general quiz competition on February 25 under its annual cultural fest Unmaad. Major Nair seems to be on a roll this month, as he is hosting this quiz as well. It will be an all-ages event with a prize pool of Rs 40,000.

Manipal’s Biz-Tech Startup Quiz
Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru has planned a unique business and technology quiz on March 9. Open to teams of two, the quiz has a twist — one of the players must be associated with a startup. The quiz will begin from 11am with QM Titash Banerjea emceeing, and features prizes of over Rs 1 lakh. Podium finishers will also be invited to the Tech Entrepreneurship Summit being organized by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce later this year.

AptiQuest Gen Quiz by IIT BHU
