Two JK villages boycott polls protesting govt ‘apathy’

Protesting against the state government's alleged failure to fulfil their basic demands of road,power and water supply,two villages in Poonch have boycotted the polls.

Protesting against the state government’s alleged failure to fulfil their basic demands of road,power and water supply,the electorates of two villages in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir have boycotted the Lok Sabha polls in the state on Thursday.

“Villagers of Dodi and Gali Pindi villages have boycotted polls in protest against the fulfilment of their basic demands of road,power and water by the respective governments,” Poonch district electoral officer Mohammad Afzal Bhat said.

Both the villages in Poonch are devoid of water supply,road and electricity.

There are a total number of 605 and 118 voters in Dodi and Gali Pindi respectively.
