Attacking Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on development money reaching the people,Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Friday that the Congress leader should verify his facts before making any statement.
“He should study facts before levelling any allegation otherwise things would become worse for him in the beginning of his career,” Chouhan told reporters at the BJP office to launch the website and blog of the state party President Narendra Singh Tomar.
He further took on the Congress general secretary for changing his statements related to the issue.
“In one meeting Rahul had said that only 15 paisa out of one rupee of the welfare schemes reaches to the beneficiary, while in the other the amount was further reduced by 10 paisa on the advise of Congress leaders and thus 15 paisa becomes a five paisa,” he said.
Chouhan said that the work done by his government has been praised by Union Ministers including Mani Shankar Aiyer,P Chidambaram and Raghuwansh Prasad Singh while Rahul is busy hurling baseless criticism.
During the occasion,he said that both Assembly and Lok Sabha polls should be held simultaneously across the country as holding them separately leads to low voter turnout for Lok Sabha polls.
MP CM Shivraj further said that rising mercury led to the less voter turnout for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in the state on Thursday.
Nearly 50 per cent voters exercised their right to franchise on Thursday in the first phase of polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
