NC leaders hail Omar’s stand favouring tripartite talks

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in an interview favoured tripartite talks involving India,Pak and the separatist leadership for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Hailing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s stand favouring tripartite talks for the resolution of Kashmir issue,senior leaders of the ruling National Conference on Monday said it demonstrated his real intent to seek a solution to the vexed problem.

“The statement of Omar Abdullah for resolution of Kashmir issue demonstrated beyond doubt his straight forwardness,willingness and good intentions for resolution of the issue through negotiations”,senior Vice President of NC Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan and eight other leaders including MPs,Cabinet ministers and MLAs said in a joint statement in Srinagar on Monday.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a TV interview on Sunday favoured tripartite talks involving India,Pakistan and the separatist leadership for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Maintaining that the party had always been in favour of tripartite talks,the NC leaders said people of the three regions of the state were central to the Kashmir issue and their aspirations must be honoured at all costs but equally important was the participation of Pakistan and India in the dialogue.

The signatories to the joint statement included Kashmir provincial president A M Dar,Sharifuddin Shariq,Mohammad Shafi,Mehboob beg (MPs),Sheikh Mustafa Kamal (MLA),J and K rural development minister A M Sagar and transport minister Qamar Ali Akhoon.
