Haryana records nearly 49 per cent polling till 2.30 pm

The last round of polling shall continue till 6 pm and all those who had entered the polling stations by 6 pm shall be allowed to cast their votes.

The polling for the 10 parliamentary constituencies in Haryana is in full swing, barring a couple of constituencies where it is yet to gain momentum. The state had recorded 49 per cent polling till 2.30 pm.

After two rounds of the ongoing polling, Kurukshetra is leading with 55.1 per cent votes polled, followed by Sirsa (53.5 per cent), Hisar (52.2 per cent), Ambala (49.3 per cent), Karnal (47 per cent), Sonipat (45 per cent), Gurgaon (44.8 per cent), Rohtak (43.9 per cent), Bhiwani-Mahendergarh (40.6 per cent) and Faridabad (37.2 per cent).

In fact, in Faridabad parliamentary constituency, Faridabad NIT has recorded the lowest (30.3 per cent) polling till 2.30 pm. The polling percentage is fairly poor in various assembly constituencies in Faridabad Lok Sabha seat, that includes Ballabhgarh (31.3 per cent), Faridabad (35.1 per cent), Badkhal (35.9 per cent), Prithla (32.2 per cent) and Tigaon (37.6 per cent).

The last round of polling shall continue till 6 pm and all those who had entered the polling stations by 6 pm shall be allowed to cast their votes, according to the Election Commission’s guidelines.

While Kurukshetra and Sirsa are represented by Congress MPs, Haryana Janhit Congress represents Hisar. Congress MPs Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, HPCC, chief Ashok Tanwar and HJC chief Kuldeep Bishnoi are facing tight competition from their competitors this time.
