Dalit,Muslim voters deprived of right to vote in Bihar: LJP

The LJP termed it as the result of a "conspiracy" to influence poll results.

LJP on Wednesday alleged that more than 1.5 crore Dalit,extremely backward and Muslim voters had been deprived of their fundamental right to vote in Bihar Assembly polls under a “conspiracy” and said it would take the issue to the Election Commission of India and the Supreme Court.

“More than 1.5 crore Dalit,extremely backward and Muslim voters have been deprived of their fundamental right of voting following deletion of their names from the voter’s lists,” LJP General Secretary Satyanand Sharma told reporters here.

Terming it as the result of a “conspiracy” to influence poll results,Sharma accused the Chief Electoral Officer of “being hand in glove” with the state government on the issue.

He said his party would approach the commission and the apex court to expose the “conspiracy” to influence the results in favour of the ruling NDA in Bihar.

Sharma further alleged that proper procedure was not followed by the state election office here before deletion of their names from the voters’ lists.
