Convey to China Arunachal is part of India : Naidu

Venkaiah Naidu said the Centre should take a firm stand with regard to Arunachal Pradesh and convey to China that the state is an integral part of India.

Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said the Centre should take a firm stand with regard to Arunachal Pradesh and convey to China that the state is an integral part of India.

“Government of India should use all its diplomatic skills and convey to Chinese Government that Arunachal Pradesh is very much an integral part of India,” he told reporters.

Expressing shock at China’s reaction over the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Arunachal Pradesh ahead of Tuesday’s assembly polls,Naidu asked how China could suddenly step in and say there is dispute over Arunachal Pradesh.

“Centre should take clear and firm stand with regard to Arunachal Pradesh,which is very much part and parcel of India,” he said.

To a question on tackling the Maoist menace,Naidu said the Centre should come out with a clear cut policy by coordinating with respective state governments to contain the Maoist violence.

“State alone cannot tackle Maoists..It is also a political problem because they (Maoists) want to capture power through violence. This should be stopped immediately,” hesaid.
