Atal,Advani made invaluable contribution to BJP: Jaitley

BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani have made invaluable contribution to the party and they do not need any official position to serve and guide the organisation.

BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani have made invaluable contribution to the party and they do not need any official position to serve and guide the organisation.

“I have always believed that both the senior leaders Atalji and Advaniji have been leading the party for five decades and have made invaluable contribution.

“In whatever capacity they are able to serve and guide the party is welcome by every worker. They can do so for as long as they wish. What position (in the party) they hold is irrelevant,” Jaitley,who is here to release party’s manifesto for the October 13 Haryana Assembly elections said.

Asked about reported inclination of Advani to “distance himself” from politics,the leader said,”I have not read any of his statement. You should address the question to the person to whom it relates.”

Jaitley was commenting on reports quoting Swami Vishveshwara Teerath of Pejawar Mutt that Advani had expressed a view to distance himself from politics,but the senior BJP leader was not clear when and at what time.
