AAP attack on LG ‘unfortunate, irresponsible’: BJP

BJP said it would decide on the matter only after the Lt Governor invites them to take a shot at the same.

On Tuesday BJP  hit out at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for attacking Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and said it is “unfortunate and irresponsible” that aspersions are being cast on someone holding a constitutional post.

BJP said that Kejriwal has no moral right to speak on government formation in Delhi as he has lost his credibility after quitting from power in 49 days and leaving the government in the lurch.

“The Lt Governor’s a constitutional post and to cast aspersions on it is very unfortunate and irresponsible,” said BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma.

“Kejriwal has lost out after his drubbing in the last Lok Sabha polls and is now fighting for his survival,” he added.

Kejriwal also came under attack for having formed the AAP government in Delhi using support from the Congress with BJP saying that the AAP convener had himself termed that party corrupt.

Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung has come under fire from AAP over the issue of government formation with the party having accused him of “promoting horse-trading”.

Meanwhile, regarding the party’s own stand on government formation, BJP said it would decide on the matter only after
the Lt Governor invites them to take a shot at the same.
