This refers to ‘Assam beats the clock’ (IE, January 3). I fully support the view that India should be divided into two time zones. I have lived in Jorhat and Dibrugarh in Assam. The sun rises around 3.20 am there in the summer. During winters, it is pitch dark by 4 pm. It becomes difficult for people to work.
