Two-wheeler accidents kill 3 people and injure 6 others in Tripura

The road accidents took place between the last few hours of 2023 and Monday evening.

Three people were killed and six others injured in as many road accidents in Tripura on New Year’s Eve and the first day of 2024, police said on Monday.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, a police officer said that the road accidents, all of them involving two-wheelers, took place in the South Tripura and Gomati districts between the last few hours of 2023 and the evening of the new year’s first day.

According to the police, two of the deceased victims, Ramesh Tripura (18) and Bimal Tripura (30), were killed in a road accident in the Baikhora area of South Tripura late on December 31 and the third, Partha Saha (34), was killed in an accident near the Matabari bypass in Gomati district.

No major crime has been reported from anywhere in the state in the new year, the police officer added.
