The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has declared an amnesty scheme for property tax defaulters, providing a 75 per cent discount on the penalty for pending dues of property tax. The scheme will be in effect from November 15 to January 15, 2026.
PMC Chief Naval Kishore Ram in a press release on November 7 said that in order to provide special relief from outstanding penalties to the taxpayers under Rule 51 of Chapter 8 Taxation Rules of Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, the Abhay Yojna 2025-26 is being implemented in the given time period. However, property owners who have benefited from earlier Abhay Yojanas (2015-16, 2016-17, 2020-21 and 2021-22) will not be given benefits under the scheme this time.
Ram has urged all delinquent taxpayers in Pune city to take advantage of the scheme and get a 75% discount on the penalty amount levied on delinquent property tax.
During the above mentioned period, the entire tax amount (including arrears) can be paid in lump sum at the Municipal Corporation’s Civic, Service Centers, Bank of Maharashtra, ICICI Bank, Janata Sahakari Bank, and Cosmos Bank, and online on the website propertytax.punecorporation.org. All the civic service centres of Pune Municipal Corporation will remain open on Saturdays and Sundays as well as on public holidays.
