Aparesh Kumar Singh. (Photo source: Twitter/ Prof.(Dr.) Manik Saha) Aparesh Kumar Singh was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura Monday.
Singh was administered the oath of office by Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya at the Raj Bhawan in Agartala’s New Capital Complex in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, members of the state cabinet, other judges of the High Court, members of the High Court Bar Association, Tripura Bar Association and other dignitaries.
Justice Singh passed BA Honours, obtained an LLB degree from the University of Delhi, and practiced as an advocate at the Patna High Court from 1990 till 2000 and in the Jharkhand High Court from 2001 till his elevation as an additional judge of the Jharkhand High Court in 2012. He was appointed as a permanent judge of the high court two years later and served as the executive chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority.
He also served as Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court from December 20, 2022, till February 19 this year.
