Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that Uttar Pradesh’s robust infrastructure, improved law and order, and business-friendly policies have turned the state into a magnet for global investment. Addressing the inauguration of the UP Trade Show Swadeshi Mela at Champa Devi Park in Gorakhpur, he said these factors have positioned Uttar Pradesh as a key driver of India’s growth story. Highlighting recent achievements, the CM recalled that the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show held from September 25–29 in Greater Noida saw over 2,250 entrepreneurs participate and more than 500 foreign buyers attend. Products worth Rs 11,200 crore were sold at the event, which he called “a picture of the new Uttar Pradesh” — one that has shed its BIMARU image. Yogi said that post-2017, Uttar Pradesh witnessed a remarkable turnaround. “Before 2017, setting up an enterprise in UP was just a dream. Lawlessness forced people to flee. Today, with zero tolerance on crime and simplified industry rules, we have created the best environment for entrepreneurship,” he said. MSMEs have flourished, with 96 lakh active units employing nearly 2 crore people. The CM also underlined massive strides in connectivity and infrastructure. The state now has 16 operational airports (up from two in 2017), an expanding metro network, and India’s first inland waterway. “Electric buses will soon be made in Uttar Pradesh, boosting jobs and protecting the environment,” he said. Yogi strongly pitched for Swadeshi, urging citizens to support local artisans and industries. “When we buy Swadeshi, we keep our nation’s wealth within the country and strengthen our economy,” he said, noting that Uttar Pradesh leads India in GI tags and now manufactures 60 per cent of the country’s mobile phones. At the event, the CM distributed crores in incentives under the Textile Policy and loans under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana, and handed GI certificates for terracotta products to local artisans.
