HARARE, November 29: Faced with the prospect of an innings defeat by Sri Lanka in the second Test here, Zimbabwe were making a fight of it by the lunch break on the fourth day today.

Set to get 258 in order to make Sri Lanka bat again and beginning the day on 34 for three 8212; still 224 behind 8212; Zimbabwe moved the score on to 86 for four by the break for the loss of just one wicket during the session.

Neil Johnson was caught in the gully by Marvan Atapattu off Nuwan Zoysa in the eighth over when he had added only eight runs to his overnight score.

But when Andy Flower joined Murray Goodwin, the two Zimbabweans settled down into a pattern of stubborn resistance. They defended well, taking the odd single off Muttiah Muralitharan and the occasional fours off the seamers.
