CHANDIGARH, SEPT 7: Yadavindra Public School, SAS Nagar, lads gave a sterling performance to score a 2-1 victory over Mayo College, Ajmer, to lift the title in the under-13 boys category in the North Zone Inter-School Squash team championship which concluded at the Mayo College premises. According to information received here YPS lads fought back strongly after losing the first match.

Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu of YPS lost to A Khan Mayo College 10-8, 9-6, 6-9, 9-5, 3-9, in the first contest. Down 0-1, YPS lads did not lose hopes and Manpreet Malhi demolished his opponent U Bagga 9-4, 9-2, 9-1, to restore parity.

In the decider, Jai Singh Sekhon made no mistake in scoring a 9-2, 9-1, 9-0 win over Srivastsa Kanodia.

YPS lads will now play in the All India Inter-School meet in Delhi next week.

On their way to the top YPS defeated Mayo College A8217; and B8217; teams, Modern School Delhi, Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun and Welham8217;s Boys School Dehradun.

The hosts Mayo College won the under-17 and under-15 titles by defeating RSM Inter-College Dhampur, 2-1, and The Doon School Dehradun, 3-0, respectively.
