
PUNE, May 9: Maharashtra8217;s Yogesh Dodke has been selected for the junior coaching camp cum selection trial commencing at NIS, Patiala from May 11.
Yogesh, trained under the noted coach Dinkar Suryawanshi at Vasantdada Wrestling Centre, Sangli, had represented India in the junior world wrestling championship held at South Africa last year. Recently, he won silver medal in the above 97 kilogram category in the Greco Roman style in the junior wrestling championship for boys and girls held at Lucknow.
For Maharashtra, apart from Yogesh Dodke, Anjali Deokar and Karishma Gaikwad also won medals. Anjali bagged the gold, while Karishma won a bronze medal at Lucknow.
The camp is part of preparation and selection of the Indian team to participate in the junior world wrestling championship scheduled to be held at Sydney, Australia.
Free karate camp
Shito-Ryu-Karate Do Training School, Pune has planned a karate coaching camp at Lal Bahadur Shastri high school from May 10.
The one week camp will be held for all age group in both boys and girls section free of cost. The camp will include the theory and practical aspects particularly in the art of self-defence.
The camp will be held under the guidance of Anand Naidu, black belt.
