PUNE, Dec 27: As many as 500 delegates, including 100 from foreign countries, will be participating in the Third International Conference on Yoga Research and Traditions, to be held from January 1 to January 4. The Swami Kuvalayananda award will also be conferred on veteran social reformer Nanaji Deshmukh on the occasion.

The conference, which is being inaugurated by Deshmukh, is organised by Kaiyalyashama Lonavla, an institute founded in 1924 by Swami Kuvalayananda for conducting research, therapy and training in yoga. The institute is celebrating its platinum jubilee.

More than 120 papers will be presented during the four-day conference. Speakers include Dr Robin Monro, director, Yoga Biomedical Trust, London, Dr Rosario Porrovecchio, director, Institute of Psychosomatic Medicines, Italy, Dr JP Balodhi, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, and Dr V Subramanium, Head of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicines, KEM hospital, Mumbai.
