PUNE, Nov 30: Four million dollar Yamazaki Mazak India Technology Centre at Chinchwad was inaugurated by executive vice president of Yamazaki Mazak Corporation, Japan, Yoshihiko Yamazaki here on Saturday.

The state of the art centre which aims to tap the Indian market in a major way has been established to improve customer manufacturing technologies at their production sites. The centre is part of the 80 year old Yamazaki Mazak group, the world’s biggest manufacturer of machine tools. The centre will offer state of the art technologies such as high speed machining, multi-tasking machining, die and mould machining, modular systems. It hopes to garner a revenue of Rs 30 million to Rs 450 million in the next two to three years. Stating that products without quality are destined to be phased out from the market, he pointed out that with every manufacturing industry facing worldwide competition, customers hoped for solutions from their new technologies.
