Jakarta, July 22: Indonesia8217;s teenage star Taufik Hidayat overcame Rosslin Hashim of Malaysia to reach the final of the Indonesia Open Badminton championships here on Saturday despite a back injury. He will meet Malaysia8217;s Ong Ewe Hock in the final on Sunday. Hock defeated Johan Hadikusuma of Indonesia 15/9 15/4.

8220;I still can feel the pain but I didn8217;t want to be bothered by the injury,8221; Hidayat said after the match. Hidayat, ranked World number seven, was upbeat about his chances of winning this year8217;s Indonesia Open title but praised his Malaysian rival.

In March 1999, Hidayat became the youngest men8217;s singles player of the Open era to reach an all-England final.

Ong was equally confident about the final match.
