Winter chill grips Delhi

After playing truant, the winter chill is now back in the capital as the minimum temperature has been sharply declining for the last three days.

The minimum temperature this morning plummeted to 8.4 degree Celsius from 11 degree Celsius yesterday. The minimum temperature on Saturday and Sunday was recorded at 16.2 and 13.5 degree Celsius respectively.

The maximum temperature yesterday was recorded at 22.4 degree Celsius. The season’s lowest was recorded on December 13 when mercury plummeted to 6.7 degrees.

The Met department predicted that the minimum temperature will be around seven degree Celsius on Wednesday.

Flight operations were normal at the Indira Gandhi International airport as the Runway Visibility Range was about 3,000 metre, airport sources said.
