VADODARA, Sept 1: The railway board has withdrawn the decision to impose superfast8217; charges on the Vadodara-Mumbai Sayajinagri Express, at least till September 5. The train, however, continues to be a superfast.

The railway ministry8217;s decision to levy charges commensurate with the train8217;s superfast status had hit season ticket-holders the hardest, as they had to pay an additional Rs 10 every time they boarded the train; every month, daily passengers had to shell out an extra Rs 600.

Divisional Railway Manager K C Jena said, 8220;We received a fax from the Board on Wednesday, directing us to withdraw the decision. There will be a rethink on the issue after the elections.quot;
