While most stars celebrated Diwali at home with family and close friends,others chose to publicise their forthcoming films during the festival.

The Bachchans

The Bachchans hosted a Diwali party at their Juhu residence Jalsa for family and friends from the industry. Wearing a blue kurta-churidar,Abhishek Bachchan was the perfect host as he welcomed guests along with wife Aishwarya,who was dressed in a traditional pink ensemble. Bachchan senior,too,was home after shooting for Baz Luhrmanns The Great Gatsby in Sydney. Maanyata and Sanjay Dutt,Ashutosh Gowariker,Riteish Deshmukh,Goldie and Sonali Bendre Behl,Ritu Nanda and Zayed Khan were present at the party.

Akshay Kumar

The actor is known for hosting Diwali parties. But this year,Akshay Kumar decided to keep it low-key and celebrated the festival with only family and few close friends at his Juhu home. While wife Twinkle spent time indoors,the actor along with his son Aarav stepped out and lit crackers.

Kangna Ranaut

This year Kangna Ranaut chose to work during the festival season. The actor was spotted at a Diwali celebration at Mumbais Fame Cinemas. Dressed in a yellow-and-pink kurta-churidar,Ranaut,who was there to promote her forthcoming film Miley Hum Miley Tum,also burst crackers with her co-stars.

Esha Deol amp; Hema Malini

After whirlwind promotions for their film Tell Me O Khhuda,the mother-daughter duo decided to spend some quality time with each other this Diwali. Esha and her mother Hema Malini flagged off the festival with Laxmi Puja and then proceeded to lighting diyas at their home.

Vivek Oberoi

Vivek and Priyanka Oberoi spent their first Diwali together with a lot of enthusiasm. Since it8217;s my first Diwali after marriage,it is very special to me. I8217;ll spend as much time as possible with my wife and family, the actor said a day before the festival. And true to his word,Oberoi spent the day at home.

This Diwali,Deepika Padukone gifted herself a new home at Prabhadevi. The actor,who chose to spend a quiet Diwali,performed Laxmi Puja at the new house with her family and close friends.
