Bob Woodward is regarded as one of Americas pre-eminent investigative reporters and non-fiction authors. He has worked for The Washington Post since 1971 as a reporter, and is currently an associate editor of the Post. In 1972,Woodward was teamed up with Carl Bernstein to work on the Watergate scandal that led to numerous government investigations and the eventual resignation of US President Richard Nixon.

Woodward has authored or co-authored 15 non-fiction books in the last 35 years. All 15 have been national bestsellers and 11 of them have been No.1 national non-fiction bestsellers.

In 1972,the reporting of Woodward and Bernstein in the Post was regularly denounced by the Nixon re-election campaign,Republican leaders and the White House. Subsequently, the investigations of the Senate Watergate Committee, the House Judiciary Committee and the Watergate Special prosecutor showed that the Woodward-Bernstein reporting had been accurate and perhaps understated the scope and depth of the criminality and abuse of power.

One of the leading academic historians of Watergate,Professor Michael Shudson of the University of California,San Diego wrote that Woodwards and Bernstein8217;s reporting gave the tradition of muckraking flesh and blood Woodward and Bernstein as well as an unforgettable knock-out-punch triumph Nixon8217;s resignation.
